Once a Phoenician port that resurfaced as a silver mining boom town in the 19th century, Villaricos remains a traditional fishing village where small craft return each morning with their catch to satisfy the demands of local restaurants, beach bars and markets. They still have their traditional fiestas and the old fashioned simplicity of the village adds to its charm.
